Our teachers know their students and work with them to help them realise their potential as learners. Our focus on authentic learning and authentic assessment ensures that we challenge our students to grow in their learning and achieve their personal best.
Throughout our community of Sydney Catholic schools, we have shown high performance of our students in measures such as NAPLAN and the HSC.
At St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Stanmore, assessment data is regularly used to track, monitor and target student growth. Teachers meet regularly to analyse and discuss student data and set specific goals for students and their learning.
Students are provided with varied opportunities to showcase their achievements through Robocup, symposiums and other various opportunities. Assessment data, including NAPLAN, PAT, RE Test results and other standardised assessment tools regularly indicate positive student growth.
At St Michael’s Catholic Primary School Stanmore, we offer a curriculum that is differentiated and centred on the child. Recognising that students learn, grow and achieve at different rates, we have placed a strong focus on the use of data to assess, identify and target the specific learning needs of students.
To effectively deliver this approach, all our staff are committed to professional learning focusing on improving student learning growth and outcomes. Through various teaching and learning strategies, our aim is to continue to create and differentiate classroom programs to extend, enrich and develop students’ gifts and talents.
